Panagiota Kara, MD graduated from the Department of Medicine, School of Health Sciences of the University of Patras (Greece) and she completed a five-year residency in Anatomical Pathology at the Evangelismos Athens General Hospital, one of the largest public hospitals in Greece. During her residency, she was given the opportunity to study a wide range of bioptic and surgical specimens, and attend several conferences and training workshops in the field of surgical pathology. Currently she is a Consultant Histopathologist at the Nicosia General Hospital (Cyprus), where she focuses on the pulmonary and pleural system mainly, the gastrointestinal tract, the endocrine system, the urinary system and male genital organs and soft tissue. She is also a clinical collaborator at the University of Cyprus Medical School.
