Dr George Georgiou is the Deputy Director of Department of Histopathology, Nicosia General Hospital. He holds a Medical Degree and a PhD from the Medical School, Democriteion University of Thrace, Greece and is Certified Pathologist as of May 2003 with specialization in Dermatopathology. As the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship he practiced in Melanocytic tumors at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has served as a Specialist Pathologist at Nicosia General Hospital, Department of Histopathology where he currently has the position of Deputy Director. Has co-authored 35 conference proceedings and has delivered 17 invited talks. His has led the National Study for the Genetics of Gastronintestinal Stromal Tumours and served as Secretary of the Cyprus Pathology Society for six years and he is currently Vice-Chair. His teaching experience includes lecturing and tutorials in Hostopathology at University of Nicosia-St. George Medical School and the University of Cyprus Medical School. Currently he is in charge of the Pathology Discipline at University of Cyprus Medical School.
