Prof. Christos P. Loizou (male) is an adjunct Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics of the Cyprus University of Technology, Cyprus and a senior researcher at the department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus. He has more than 30 years of experience in medical imaging and video analysis and processing. He has been involved in different projects in the above areas funded by the European Commission Research & Foundation, Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus, the EU and the National Institutes of Health (NIH-USA), with a total funding in the range of 9,5 million Euro. He has published 30 journal publications, 62 conference papers, 5 books, and 11 chapters in books in these areas (number of citations more than 2200, h-index 21, i-10 index 44, and RG score 45.18). He was a supervisor of a number of Ph.D. (8), M.Sc. (28) and B.Sc. (71) students in computer image, video analysis and telemedicine. His research interests include medical imaging, video analysis and processing; motion analysis; signal processing; pattern recognition; voice emotion signal analysis; biosignal analysis in ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging and video and computer applications in medicine. He has extensive experience in image/video pre-processing, voice signal analysis, despeckling, segmentation and texture analysis. Dr. Loizou is a Senior Member of the IEEE and serves as a reviewer in many IEEE Transactions journals and as a chair or co-chair in many IEEE conferences. He is also an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Neurology and Genetics, Nicosia, Cyprus a co-founder and member of the e-Health Laboratory of the University of Cyprus.
