Gabriele Weiler

Dr. Gabriele Weiler (female) holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern and a diploma degree in medical informatics from the University of Heidelberg. She joined Fraunhofer IBMT in 2005 and works there as a postdoctoral researcher in the group Health Information Systems. She conducted pioneering research on innovative semantic tools to support biomedical research in European research collaborations including the H2020 project iManageCancer, and the FP7 projects p-Medicine, EURECA, Chronious and ACGT. Her research interests focus on applications of semantic technologies in healthcare, data consistency checking, semantic integration, decision support and design and development of health information systems. She is the coordinator of the national project XplOit that delivers a novel IT platform to support predictive modelling research and clinical data sharing in system medicine.
