Jochen Schmidt received his diploma for Biology from the University of the Saarland and his Master of Arts in International Business Administration from the Bournemouth University.
In 2001, he started at the Fraunhofer IBMT as manager of the center of competence for miniaturized monitoring and interventional systems (MOTIV). From 2006 onwards, he worked as assistant to the Principal Investigator of the Global HIV Vaccine Research Cryorepository (GHRC), a service facility within the Collaboration for AIDS Vaccine Discovery (CAVD), funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition to the project work, he is working as quality manager in different projects since 2015.
