Dr-Ing Georgia M. Kapitsaki (female) is an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department, UCY and a faculty member of the Software Engineering and Internet Technologies Laboratory (SEIT). . She has received her Diploma in Engineering from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2005 and her PhD from the same faculty in 2009. In 2008, she received her MsC on Technoeconomical Systems. She has been involved in European research projects (e.g. PaaSage, CYberSafety). She has also worked at the Technical Institute of Piraeus (2007-2009) and as a software and telecommunications engineer in the industry in Germany (2005, 2009-2010). She has been a research visitor in other institutes (OVGU, TU Delft). She has been the program co-chair of the 15th International Conference on Software Reuse and has been involved in the organisation (e.g., tutorials chair, industry day co-chair) and program committees of international conferences (e.g., ICWS, WISE, FM). She has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences. Her works have received best paper awards in international conferences (ICSR 2015, MODELS doctoral symposium 2008). She is also serving as the contact point of UCY at the GFOSS – Open Technologies Alliance. Her research interests include Privacy Enhancing Technologies, Open source software, and Context-awareness.
